Semaglutide is an injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist that is administered once weekly for obesity. How does it work?

GLP-1 medications mimic the body's response to increased blood sugar. This leads to the slow down of gastric emptying which results in feeling of fullness and decreased appetite. The reduced food intake, appetite and hunger, promotes fullness and satiety with the ultimate result of promoting weight loss.

The medication and syringes will be shipped to your home from a compounding pharmacy and is injected once weekly. If you're not comfortable with self-injecting, you may also come to the office to be injected.
